2048 is a mobile and web browser game created by Gabriele Cirulli in 2014.
The object of the game is to combine squares with the same number to create a square with the number 2048. The game starts with two squares with numbers of 2 or 4. The player moves the squares by using the arrow keys (up, down, left, right). Each move, all the squares will be moved towards that side and two squares with the same number that meet will be combined into a new square whose number is the sum of the two old squares.
The player's score is calculated by the maximum number they have generated in the game. Each move, a new square with the number 2 or 4 will appear randomly on the board. If the moving player has no more squares or no more combinations are possible, the game is over and the player's score is displayed.
2048 is both simple and fun and can require players to focus and strategize. The game has different difficulty levels and requires the player to be able to preview and calculate the moves to make the biggest number. 2048 has become one of the most popular and loved games on mobile platforms and on web browsers.
Use your arrow keys to slide the tiles in the direction you want. When tiles with equal numbers collide, they will merge into one tile and double in value.
